罗斯科与马蒂斯作品成为苏富比5月拍卖重头

　　根据纽约苏富比相关工作人员介绍，罗斯科和马蒂斯的画作将是他们5月12日“印象主义及当代艺术拍卖专场”的重要作品。马蒂斯的“Bouquet pour le 14 Juillet 1919”是艺术家在“二战”之后庆祝法国国庆日完成的作品。该作期望能拍得18,000,000-25,000,000美元。

　　在一周后的当代艺术的拍卖会上，罗斯科在1961年完成的作品“无题”也将上拍，这件作品的估价和马蒂斯的那件一样。在这场拍卖会上，还将上拍安迪·沃霍尔的自画像，这件作品为时尚设计师Tom Ford的藏品，这件作品的估价在10,000,000-15,000,000美元。

Mark Rothko and Henri Matisse Among Top Lots at Sotheby's NY

Paintings by Mark Rothko and Henri Matisse will be among the top lots at Sotheby's sales in New York next month, the auctioneer said on Friday. Matisse's "Bouquet pour le 14 Juillet 1919" was the artist's celebration of the first Bastille Day after World War One and is expected to fetch $18-25 million when it goes under the hammer as part of the May 5 impressionist and modern art auction.

A week later, at the contemporary art sale, Rothko's 1961 work "Untitled" is estimated at the same price, while a self portrait by Andy Warhol, from the collection of fashion designer Tom Ford, is expected to fetch $10-15 million.

The purple-hued work is from Warhol's final series of self portraits executed in 1986, shortly before his death.

Sotheby's is displaying the works alongside other lots including paintings by Claude Monet, Amedeo Modiglianiand Pablo Picasso, at its London showroom on Friday and from April 18-20.

The auctioneer will be hoping for further signs of the recent strong recovery in art market prices, which in turn have encouraged sellers to offer particularly rare and valuable works across the genres.
