“水墨家园”是我近年来作品关注与表现的一个主题。她产生于一种期望留住与自己生命相联系的那个时代家园的情结。

    在这个急速发展变革的年代里，很多我们非常熟悉的与历史、文化、经历、情感紧密相连的家园环境，当你还来不及回首关注时，就在不觉之中消逝了。其中很多东西代表着一个时代的文化符号与历史痕迹，并联接着人们的精神与情感，它们有着完整的审美境界与鲜明特征；北京的四合院、胡同、宫墙下的杨柳、皇城外的红墙、老槐树组成的静谧林荫、徽居的黑瓦白墙、西藏雪山下的寺院和经幡…… 这一切牵动着人们的情思，也成为人们精神的归宿和情感的依靠。

   “水墨家园”是我期望用自己的水墨语言来表现的那渐渐逝去家园的浓烈印象与记忆。作为生存在这个变革时代的人，我们不能割断历史、忘却昨天；必须面对未来创造明天。我的作品也是这样。

 

应澳门特别行政区政府特别邀请，《水墨家园》将于2008年10月17日至11月30日在澳门展出。《水墨家园》主题分为“北京风韵”“西藏风情”和“黄山风光”三个系列。这次展出的是赴澳门展览的部分作品。

 

 

Homestead in Ink

 “Homestead in Ink” is the theme on which I have been focusing in recent years. It is the fruit of a desire to preserve that homestead which retains a strong link with my life.

In this age of rapid change and development, many old features of our home – those of history, culture, experience and emotion – are thrown into oblivion before we can spare any attention for them. Among these forgotten things, there are many cultural symbols and historical sites. They are connected with people’s sprit and feeling, and have their own self-contained aesthetics as well as distinct traits. Think about the traditional compounds (Si He Yuan) and alleys (Hutong) in Beijing, the willows besides the palace wall and the red walls of the capital city; think about those shades formed by old trees, the black tiles and white walls in traditional houses in Huizhou, and temples and scripture flags at the foot of those snow-capped mountain in Tibet.

      With “Homestead in Ink,” I hope to record the indelible impression and memory the disappearing home has made on me. As individuals living in an age of transition, we cannot forget history or cut our relations with the past, yet meanwhile we must face what is coming and create our own future. This is exactly what I am trying to do in my works.

Invited by Macao SAR of the People’s Republic of China, “Homestead in Ink” will continue its exhibition in Macao from October.17th to November.30th.Paintings for this exhibition are focus on three different subjects: “Beijing Scenery ”, “Tibet Scenery” and “Huangshan Mountain Scenery”.

We select part of Macao exhibition paintings for this preview.

 

 

为了寻找新的绘画语言和感受，我曾多次到西部藏地，历经青海的黄河源头、长江源头、柴达木、西藏的阿里、珠峰、那曲、甘南的玛曲、碌曲、夏河……使我有了和藏地藏人近距离接触的机缘。藏地大自然的纯净博大，苍茫；藏人的真切挚热，刚悍和淳朴，给我以震撼。在当今缤纷物化的时代里，藏地藏人那种本源状态给人带来了生命的感悟和灵魂的洗刷。那是一个能使人魂断的神秘境地。我企图走得更近，可它永远在远方，这远方包含着变化、失去与永恒······这也像人生，总是在企图超越与无法超越的过程中。

 

李小可先生先后多次进藏体验采风，拍下了大量摄影作品。本次展出的作品是他用丝网版技术对这些摄影作品进行的再创作的试验，期望赋予它们新的艺术表现力和生命。

 

Eternal Memory

I have visited Tibet many times in order to capture new artistic languages and feeling. I have been to the source of the Yellow River, the source of Yangtze River and Chaidamu in Qinghai, Ali, the Everest Mountain, Naqu in Tibet, Maqu, Luqu and Xiahe in the south of Gansu Province … Travels have offered me an opportunity to get in close contact with people and places in the land of Tibet. I was impressed by the purity and vastness of her land as well as the sincerity and sturdiness of her people. In this age of noisy materialism, the primitive condition in Tibet brings to us contemplation on life and purgation of soul. This is Tibet, a land mysterious and attractive. I wanted to get closer, but it remained forever in distance, embracing change, lost and eternity … This is much like life itself, which is always in the struggle between what is infinite and what is not.

　Mr.Li Xiaoke has been to Tibet for photographing many times, taken more than ten thousand of pictures there. He recreates and refines these pictures into silk-screen print works, with new perspective and representation of art.
